Bruce Tsai

I am currently an adjunct faculty at UCLA. I am teaching/have taught classes in: data analytics at the Luskin School of Public Affairs, business communications at the Anderson School of Management, statistical computing and programming at the Statistics Department, developmental economics and international relations at the Political Science Department.
I have worn many hats in the past, having been: a consulting data scientist for Google People Operations (APAC), a C4I subject matter expert for the Singapore Army, and a short stint in materials engineering at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering.
I obtained both my Ph.D. in Political Science/International Relations and my B.S. Statistics from UCLA, graduating as the commencement speaker for the latter.
My primary research focuses on the implications of securitization in international political economy, specifically in how securitization techniques first developed for high yield securities can be utilized for sovereign debt. My secondary research focuses on developing new methods in stochastic modeling, graph centrality, and Monte Carlo simulations.
